Mepkin Abbey Moncks Corner, SC Wedding Photographer | Alyse & Matt Engaged

From the Moose:

Alyse and Matt chose a picturesque location for their engagement photos called Mepkin Abbey in Moncks Corner, SC. From the Spanish moss, lush greenery and live oaks, this location just screamed "Southern Love". We even had a little visit from an alligator during the session. You can see it on the left hand side of the photo above. Alyse and Matt will say their vows next march in Virginia and the venue they have chosen there is just as amazing.  It was a blast to capture these two and I wish them the very best that life has for them  in the future.

From the Bride to Be:

Matt and I started out as friends. We worked together and always hung out as just friends. Then one day that all changed and I started to see him differently. Matt constantly made me smile and laugh. Slowly I started to developed a little crush on him. I went through a lot becauseI was a single mom and always feared no one would accept me for who I was, but Matt did. He was different than anybody I had dated before. I could without a doubt be myself around him, and he was the sweetest man I had ever met. One night I invited him to come have a drink with me, and he did! Later on I found out he had gotten out of bed to do so... which I thought was super sweet. Everything changed after that night. Which is why our first dance song is, “it all started with a beer” we took things slow, but after 4 months we made things official as we were head over heels for each other. We built a relationship on top of our friendship, and it was a strong one. We then faced a challenge of having to do long distance for a year. It was tough, but we knew the end result would be worth it. Once that year was over, we moved in together without hesitation. He continues to be the most loving, selfless, and most caring man I have ever met. Matt has also been so incredibly amazing with my daughter and it makes my heart so happy and full. Right before Christmas last year, Matt asked me to marry him. For one of the first times in my life, I didn’t have to think or question something. I knew a long time ago, and so did he, that we would spend the rest of our lives together. I absolutely cannot wait until next March when we say I do. Then the journey really begins!

Pine Lakes Country Club Wedding Photographer | Myrtle Beach, SC | Sarah + Colby

Sarah and Colby met freshmen year of college, on a camping trip in the Berkshires. Sarah is an extreme girly girl and was definitely out of her element. Colby a Portland, ME native, was overly prepared. Who knew they would be the perfect match. The couple bonded over Sarah's weird choices in sports teams. After 3 days in the Berkshires and lots of bug bites later, Colby took Sarah on a date. The rest is history they have been together ever since. After college the couple decided to move South and begin their life together down where it does not snow, well most of the time. Soon after moving down to North Carolina Colby took Sarah to Asheville, NC and proposed in the wilderness in front of a waterfall. Miles away and years later they began their life together in the great outdoors once again. This time it was a promise to each other forever.

These two along with Gigi Noelle Events planned the perfect outdoor wedding at Pine Lakes Country Club in Myrtle Beach, SC. However mother nature decided to change it up a little.  With rain coming down hard, the ceremony was moved inside.  Sarah and Colby didn't let that dampen their spirits nor their beautiful wedding decorated with amazing floral by Little Shop of Flowers.  With tears of joy and smiles everywhere, these two said their vows, celebrated with family and friends, and danced the night away as DJ Scott and Company supplied the outstanding music. Congrats to you, Sarah and Colby!!

Thanks to the amazing vendors that made this day happen.

Myrtle Beach Train Depot Wedding Photographer | Myrtle Beach, SC

Oh the Myrtle Beach Train Depot Wedding.  This wedding was AWESOME!! Bright colors, good music and a Pastor taking a selfie with the couple right after the kiss!! Fun fun and more fun was this wedding.  I had the opportunity to work with the BEAUTIFUL Feuza Reis on this wedding. This lady knows how to work a wedding. By working with her she taught me a lot but one thing stands out...CONFIDENCE.  She owns it and works it.  It was an honor to work with her.

Getting back to this wedding...this was a fun loving, party atmosphere.  They were there to celebrate, and celebrate they did.  From the time you walked in, the mood is set to instill fun into your brain. From walking past the coolest looking photo booth that resembles an old school karaoke machine, to coming up the steps into the Depot and seeing a table full of colorful candy and goodies, with the addition of the colorful decor on the tables and the string lights swaying from the ceiling and the DJ booth in the corner, you know there was a good vibe going on. And the ladies that attended this wedding knew how to "wobble, wobble"! Colorful ceremony, colorful people, great dancing and a good ole time at the Train Depot!  Thank you again Feuza for allowing me to work with you.  It was an honor and I look forward to the next one with you!

PS--Beware of the Love Potion #9 drink.  That thing has a Kick!!

Pawleys Plantation Golf and Country Club Wedding

In September I had the opportunity to photograph a few weddings as a second shooter (I blogged on the perks of being a second shooter previously) which prepared me to shoot my first wedding as a lead photographer. This particular wedding here at Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club had me nervous a little because I was a second shooter for a friend, mentor and former teacher Keith Jacobs. So believe me, I was sweatin' bullets a little. So as you can tell from a few of the photos posted here, I was in charge of staying with the groom and groomsmen. Which was fine for me and also a learning experience, because I always felt I connected with the females better anyway(because I am a ladies man...yeah right...I'm a nerd). But any-who, this gave me an opportunity to photograph a group of guys that I have never ever had a chance to meet or even speak to. This opportunity gave me a chance to learn different ways to communicate with my species. Let me tell you this...these guys were awesome and it made my day go so much better than I thought. They were laid back and relaxed and ready to go. The jokes, stories and impersonations that went on were hilarious. The entire day was AWESOME, but that had to be the fastest ceremony I have ever seen in my life. Literally 5-7 mins long. It was over in a blur.  But again...awesome day + awesome guys + awesome couple = a great day of photography!
